The US is Wasting Away

A recent article "The Hidden Life of Garbage" published on AlterNet highlights another environmental issue: garbage. The United States is the number one producer of garbage on the planet. Only 5 percent of the global population lives here but we generate 30 percent of the world's trash. The average American throws away a staggering 4.5 pounds of garbage daily and our environment is paying the price.
