June 13: Meerkat Media Collective Screens New Short in Brooklyn

MTM veterans the Meerkat Media Arts Collective (Every Third Bite, How Wal-Mart Came to Haslett) screened their new short film Brooklyn Boondoggle in Brooklyn. Exploring the highly controversial Atlantic Yards project, the film questions the trend of top-down urban development and asks, what if we were allowed to decide the future of our own neighborhoods? Taking to the streets, the filmmakers talked to folks who are being kicked out of their homes, business owners hoping for increased sales, young people hoping for jobs and families concerned that the development would lower their quality of life.
