Culture-Jamming: Artists Take on Corporations

Burger King, 2004 by Matt Silber

In POPaganda, Ron English remixes billboards to demand corporate accountability and media reform. In the Floating Logos Project photographer Matt Siber comments on the corporatization of the American landscape. The eery photographs consist of floating signs that loom above the earth without their poles. The work creates a feeling that corporations and their actions have escaped our grasp - they are so big that they function on a different plane defying gravity and who knows what other laws of our universe. Have you made a film or video short that critiques dominant institutions and demands accountability? We want to see it - submit your work to the fifth annual Media That Matters Film Festival today! Deadline extended: January 19, 2005.
