5/23: Eyes on the Fair Use Prize (MTM6) and 125 Franco’s BLVD at Harlem Stage on Screen
Join Arts Engine and Harlem Stage on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 for a screening of the MTM short EYES ON THE FAIR USE PRIZE. Winner of the Fair Use Award, EYES is a cautionary tale about intellectual property - a hot button issue for any budding documentary filmmaker - and how it affected an award winning Civil Rights documentary.
Our MTM short film will screen alongside the feature film, 125 FRANCO’S BLVD. Directed by Sia Kyorkor and Jacob Templin, this documentary looks at the legendary artist Franco the Great, who started painting murals on storefront gates in 1968. The film follows the conflict that arises when his street art is threatened by a new city law that will remove the famous painter‰Ûªs 40 year old security gate canvas.
