November 15th: 'Recycle' to Screen at Margaret Mead Film Festival
Recycle, a film which screened in the Sixth Annual Media That Matters Festival, is set to show at the annual Margaret Mead Film Festival in New York this weekend. The Margaret Mead Festival is the nation's longest-running and premiere showcase for international documentaries, screening films on a diverse array topics by filmmakers from all across the world. Recycle, by directors and producers Vasco Lucas Nunes and Ondi Timoner, tells the story of Miguel Diaz, a homeless man in Los Angeles who collects recyclable materials to build a community garden on the median of the street where he lives. The powerful 6-minute film captured the Sustainability Award in the Sixth Annual MTM Festival, and is also included in Good Food, a collection of MTM films focusing on food and sustainability.
This year's Margaret Mead Festival runs from November 14th to 16th at the New York Museum of Natural History. Recycle shows at 7pm on Saturday, November 15th. For tickets, call (212) 769 5200, or go to the online schedule for more information.
