March 14 & 15: Harlem Stage, New York, NY; 10:30AM - 7:00PM

The Media That Matters Film Festival will be screening films at the 12th Annual Creatively Speaking Film Series at Harlem Stage (formerly known as the Harlem Film Festival) on March 14th from 10:30AM - 3PM and on March 15th at 2PM. Kelly Tsai, the performer in the film By Standing: The Beginning of an American Life Time, and Julie Joyce of I'm Not a Boy will be attending the 2pm showing of her film.

Harlem Stage has been a leading community-based organization dedicated to culturally diverse performing artists since 1979. The Creatively Speaking Film Series was created to highlight and promote the spirit of communities in color through a mix of creative and innovative shorts, narratives, documentaries and feature length films.

Sunday will also be a special day-long tribute to the life and legacy of documentary filmmaker St. Clair Bourne, with showing of his films and a panel discussion scheduled to take place. St. Clair passed away in December, but was able to give us his short list of favorite inspiring documentary films last July. The article can be viewed here.
