Come to the screening of seventh annual Media That Matters winner Still Standing
as part of the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute's panel discussion and fundraiser in solidarity of the efforts being made to correct the social and political atrocities that plague hurricane survivors.
The evening will include:
·Arts sale
·Donations to Hardship Fund (directly supports Katrina/Rita survivors through the NY Solidarity Coalition for Katrina/Rita Survivors)
·Viewing of "Still Standing": an award winning documentary on the Katrina/Rita disaster created by youth from the Educational Video Center (8 mins)
·Panel discussion led by:
Brenda Stokely (Moderator) -- NY Solidarity Coalition for Katrina/Rita Survivors
Gia Hamilton -- Visual Artist, Educator, New Orleans Survivor
Joetta C. Rogers -- Mother, Previous Mental Health Patient Aide, Alabama survivor
