One of the best ways to effectively combat the super-sized advertising budgets and public relations spin machines of the fast food industry and agribusiness is to become media savvy advocates. This workshop will highlight how agribusiness and fast food use the media to shape public understanding about food security, and will showcase food security, sustainable food system, and public health advocates who themselves are harnessing the power of film and other media to educate and galvanize people to action. Meet individuals using media for social change, get a taste of media with a sustainable message, and discuss creative ways to use media in your own efforts.
