Have you seen Neglected Sky and Young Agrarians?

The Green Guide published an article about the Green Schools Initiative, a multi-school effort to make schools healthier and more ecologically sustainable. This project found that the classrooms in half of America's 115,000 schools suffer from poor indoor and outdoor environments.

The Green Guide then looked to the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards along with their own insights and impressions to derive certain criteria by which we should measure progressibe and successful green schools. Some of the criteria include:
-Healhty School Lunches
-School-wide Green Initiatives
-Green Education
-Green Spaces

Using this criteria, the Green Guide found 10 schools in the USA that are treading lightly on the planet by engaging and encouraging students to eat foods and continue habits that will sustain our environment.

Read the list of schools and learn more about the initiative from Green Guide.
