Student Write In Search of Happy Endings

Posted on August 10, 2005

Have you seen Happy Ending? Chris, a youth producer from New York, produced a film about his search for a happy ending and reconciliation with his mom. This candid documentary exemplifies how the process of creating a personal story is just as consequential as the final product that results.

The New York Times published an article about an urban public school teacher who asked her students to write personal essays to help identify hurdles that may be impeding their academic and personal growth.

Read the personal essay of a 15 year old student from Locke, CA a district of South Central Los Angeles in the New York Times article "Essays in Search of Happy Endings" by Michael Winerip.
