Returning to Columbine for Insights Into Bullying

Posted on October 03, 2005

Have you seen Homecoming? This short film follows Ron as physical and emotional harassment drove him out of his school and away from his home. Mark Ames' recently released book, "Going Postal: Rage, Murder, and Rebellion — From Reagan's Workplaces to Clinton's Columbine and Beyond" (Soft Skull, 2005) explains how the students at Columbine did not open fire because of Marilyn Manson music or violent video games. Life at Columbine for these two young men- being called names like homos, faggots, freaks etc. was harsher than any music and games they were exposed to.

Alternet published an excerpt from Ames' new book.
