In The News Is What We Make It, claymation high schoolers discover the devastating statistics of our mainstream media environment: 7 conglomerates own over 80% of the mainstream news outlets. There is little room for dissent or opposing opinions and little place to turn to ensure what we see, hear and read are accurate. During Katrina, rumors of theft, rape, gunfire and violence spread throughout mainstream media causing fear and reluctance in aid workers.
