July 30: "I Have a Voice" LGBT Youth Media Conference, New York, NY

In collaboration with MNN Youth Channel, In the Life and The Green Chimneys Transitional Living Program, the "I Have a Voice" LGBT Youth Media Conference will be presented in an effort to teach LGBTQ youth how to become more critical media consumers while teaching them skills to use media as an agent for change.

The single day conference will help demystify the concepts of media production, allowing attendees to learn basic media production skills and encourage them to create alternatives to mainstream media voices in which the concerns of their community can be heard.

The conference will feature a screening of three films from the fifth annual Media That Matters Film Festival: Homecoming and A Girl Named Kai and Luv Me Latex.
