TV Turnoff Week: April 25-May 1 2005!

Posted on April 21, 2005

Have you seen Spring in Awe? Do you know about our Just Media Project?

The average American household has the TV on 7 hours and 40 minutes and the Average viewer watches about 4 hours of that time. In the present environment of media conglomeration, sensationalism and corporate control of the airwaves, there is no better time than to take a break from the small screen.

April 25- May 1 2005 marks this year's TV Turnoff Week- a week set aside to turn all screens in your home off and take time to enjoy the fresh air, talk, read, listen, play and think instead of watch. The goal is simple: give your eyes and ears a break and question the role of TV in your life.

Adbusters began TV Turnoff Week in 1999 and culture-jammers around the world are now taking part in this campaign.
