The Countdown Begins: 2 Weeks Until the Fifth Annual Media That Matters Film Festival

Posted on May 17, 2005

Our fourth annual Media That Matters Film Festival year is coming to a close. While the films will continue to stream online and the DVD be distributed around the country, we are excited to welcome 16 new films to the Media That Matters family. For the next two weeks, we will be unveiling some of the 16 Official Selections in anticipation of the launch on June 1, 2005.

What better way to begin then with our Jury Award Winner: Battleground Minnesota.

Battleground Minnesota is a youth documentary directed by Gabriel Cheifetz and produced by Phillips Community Television. In this 8 minute film, hip-hop activist Shakademic proves that if Walter Mondale can learn how to scratch, young voters can get schooled in election politics.
