Report from Vienna

Posted on September 08, 2004

From Linda Gallagher, who organized a screening of the Festival in Vienna on September 2nd to promote civic engagement and voter registration amongst American citizens living abroad:

The screening went very well!  We had about 40 people and registered 4. Everybody was very positive and loved the films...We are going to be screening films nearly once a week up until the elections and then monthly through the winter. We have an active little expat community here and the Avenida Culture of Peace Galleria is a wonderful center for Peace and Global Harmony work.  They are presently very involved in The Art Miles Mural Project, creating 12 miles of murals!  Check out the Web site.

If you would like to host a screening of the Media That Matters Traveling FIlm Festival, contact Shira.

"Anyone who watches Jacob Caggiano's Eyes on the Fair Use Prize will understand what's at stake when filmmakers don't stand up for their Fair Use rights. Media That Matters brings provocative films to the world and I am so heartened to see them include Fair Use in their line up of issues. I'm inspired!"
