Rare Opportunity to Speak to the FCC

Posted on September 15, 2004

Have you read about our Just Media Project? Do you want to tell the FCC how you feel about media conglomeration?

The FCC is holding six official hearings across the nation on "localism" in broadcasting, giving Americans the chance to report how well TV and radio are serving their communities.

These hearings are an extremely rare opportunity to tell the FCC about the state of your local media, how well your needs are being served, and how you feel about the increasing consolidation of media ownership. It is your chance to let the FCC know that local, independent, diverse media can't thrive under consolidated ownership—and that the FCC must listen to the public before they change legislation and rewrite the rules again.

For a recap of past hearings, including links to webcasts, transcripts, and press coverage, check out the following pages.

Monterey Hearing, July 21 2004.

Rapid City Hearing, May 26 2004.

San Antonio Hearing, January 28, 2004.

Charlotte Hearing, October 22, 2003.

The final two meetings are scheduled to take place in Portland, ME and Washingotn, DC. The dates are not yet announced.
