New Yorkers Fight for a Wage Increase

Have you seen Struggling to Survive? Campaigns to raise the minimum wage and living wage crisis in the United States are springing up in various pocktes around the country. A new initiative called It Takes a Village seeks to improve the standard of living of those working in Greenwhich Village, Manhattan. The campaign is calling for retailers and restaurant owners to raise wages, provide better health care and faciliate unionizing. In Park Slope, Brooklyn, the One Dollar More campaign is urging an increase of at least $1 to workers who are only making the hourly minimum wage of $5.15.
