National HIV Testing Day
Posted on June 25, 2004
Have you watched iThemba and I Promise Africa? What about last year's Media That Matters film Luv Me Latex, a youth-produced animation on safe sex? These shorts and other important pieces like Scenarios USA's The Monster, underscore the intensity of the AIDS epidemic and the importance of getting tested in order to protect yourself and the ones you love.
This Sunday, June 27th is National HIV Testing Day, an annual campaign produced by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA-US) to encourage at-risk individuals to receive voluntary HIV counseling and testing. NAPWA distributes campaign kits so that community groups and health departments of all sizes–with budgets large and small–can create NHTD campaigns and events targeting their own communities.
Visit NAPWA-US to find out about who's at risk and to participate in this vital campaign!
