I enjoyed the Asparagus video. It shows how important small farms are to America and how out of balance some of our trade policies are. I live in an area where garlic is grown locally - but the supermarket has peeled garlic in plastic bags that was grown and shipped from China - it just doesn't make sense.

I live in northern Michigan and always look forward to the asparagus crop from our local producers, the Norconks. I have noticed that the Peruvian stuff is what the supermarket carries, and it's often cheaper, but we support the farmers down the road and hope they keep growing, despite the way these trade agreements undermine our local economy
