FILMMAKER BIOS
Mai Iskander, Director & Producer
Mai Iskander is a freelance director and cinematographer based in New York City. She has directed numerous Public Service Announcements and industrials for non-profits such as the Partnership for the Homeless and The Brain Tumor Foundation. As a cinematographer, she has worked on dramas, commercials, industrials, and documentaries. She recently finished filming the feature-length documentary Greetings from Asbury Park, directed by Christina Eliopoulus and Profiles of a Peacemaker, which she filmed alongside Albert Maysles.
Mai joined the International Cinematographers Guild in 1996 and worked as a camera assistant on over a hundred commercials and more than a dozen features, including Men in Black and As Good as it Gets. She graduated with honors from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts in 1996. She has a BFA in both Film Production and Economics.
