FILMMAKER BIOS
Liz Miller, Director and Producer
Liz Miller is a documentary filmmaker, community media artist and professor of new media/video production at Concordia University in Montreal. Her background in political economics and electronic art fuel her community media work and documentary practice. Liz lived in Central America for many years and her documentary film, Novela, Novela was broadcast in the U.S. and Latin America and won awards including the Women’s Rights Award from the fourth annual Media That Matters Film Festival, an Honorary Award from the International Association of Women in Radio and Television, the Latin American Studies Association Award of Merit and Film and the Freedom Award at Outfest. An hour length version of her most recent film, Water Warriors will premiere in the fall of 2006.
