ABOUT THE FILM
Silence Speaks provides violence survivors, witnesses, and prevention advocates with the support, skills, and equipment they need to create original multimedia pieces about their experiences. They integrate aspects of creative writing, oral history, art/narrative therapy, and digital media to help people tell stories as short digital videos. They then screen the stories in community settings and mobilize survivors to get involved in anti-violence and social justice organizing. Silence Speaks is a program of the San Francisco Bay Area-based media training production resource center Third World Majority that serves women of color, youth of color, and LGBT individuals.
