FILMMAKER BIOS
Keefe J. Murren, Co-Producer/Co-Director
Keefe is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Film Studies and Anthropology. Recently Keefe spent a year in Berlin, Germany as a Fulbright Scholar pursuing post-graduate studies in film. He has been directing a film on New York City artist and color-theorist Sanford Wurmfeld. Keefe is currently the Festival Coordinator at the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival (Boston, London, New York) and continues to do freelance work in the film and television industries. Nelson Walker III, Co-Producer/Co-Director
Nelson holds a BA in American Studies from Brown University. He has written eight nationally televised documentaries for Discovery Channel, History Channel, and PBS’s NOVA — most recently In Search of the Real Scorpion King, a one-hour special airing on the History Channel. He is currently pursuing an MFA in directing and screenwriting in the Film Division at Columbia University’s School of the Arts. You can reach him at info@ithembafilmproject.org.
Lynn True, Editor
Lynn is a New York based editor and producer. After receiving a BA in Urban Studies and Architecture from Brown University, she was an assistant editor on various programming for NBC, PBS and AMC, as well as on the documentary feature Kalama Sutta. For two years, Lynn was also the Creative Director at Magnet Media, where she edited and produced an award-winning educational series on digital technology. Lynn’s other editing credits ranger from documentary and narrative material to music videos and museum installations. Recent projects include: Chain Time Three (MOMA film series, Co-Editor with Director Jem Cohen), Thin Air (Best Narrative Feature 2002 Downstream Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives New Filmmmaker’s series), In Tower (documentary short for NY Historical Society exhibit) and The Murphy Bowl (Pioneer Theater documentary short winner).
