Danielle Lurie, Director

Writer/director Danielle Lurie graduated from Stanford University in 2000 with a BA in Philosophy. While a production assistant for feature films (Terminator 3, The House of Sand and Fog etc.) TV shows, and commercials, Danielle directed her first short films, Nostrum and Harris RAnch.  Danielle’s latest short, In The Morning, was set in Turkey and spoken in Turkish, but was filmed in Los Angeles with an American cast and crew. In The Morning premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, and has won eight film festivals to date, including Best Narrative Short at the Oscar qualifying Nashville Film Festival. On November 9, 2005, In The Morning screened before members of the U.S. Congress during the Congressional Human Rights Caucus on Honor Killings. In its Summer 2005 issue, Filmmaker Magazine listed Danielle as being one of the 25 new faces of independent film. Currently, Danielle is writing the feature-length version of In The Morning and is in development on several other feature film projects.
