Meerkat Media is an arts collective founded by friends and collaborators from Sarah Lawrence College, reunited in Manhattan after graduation. Taking their name from the cooperative, prairie-dog-like mammals of the African grasslands, the Meerkat Media Collective is comprised of filmmakers, musicians, illustrators, writers and artists of all stripes. By collaborating on all aspects of production and sharing skills across the board, the Meerkats create a slew of projects with a range of goals, and the result is a kind of consensus art, which no one individual could have imagined alone.
